Scams That Target Seniors
Scammers go after older adults every day. Here are the most common tricks. If something feels off, hang up and call me at (407) 434-9297. I will tell you straight if it is real.
Fake Medicare Calls
Medicare will not call you to offer a new card, threaten your coverage, or ask for bank info. Medicare does not call to sell you anything. Hang up.
Fake Insurance Agents
A real Florida agent must show a license number. Mine is on every page here (FL License G231352). If someone selling insurance will not share a license number, walk away. Check any agent at the Florida Department of Financial Services.
The Grandparent Trick
You get a call: "Grandma, it is me — I am in trouble, send money now, do not tell Mom and Dad." It is not your grandchild. It is a scammer. Hang up and call your family on a number you know.
Pushy Sales Calls
"This deal ends today." "Decide right now." "Tell no one." Real firms do not push you like this. Take your time. Talk to family. Call me. A good choice can wait a day.
